PHY 781: Quantum Field Theory I

Course Description

This is a graduate level introduction to quantum field theory. Topics to be covered include: classical field theory, symmetries and conservation laws, representations of the Lorentz Group, canonical quantization, Feynman diagrams and perturbation theory, elementary quantum electrodynamics, radiative corrections, renormalization.

Prerequisites:

PHY 764 (Quantum Mechanics), Special Relativity
