Physics 361 Spring 2020
Software Labs
We will have several software labs during the semester.
Materials will be posted on Sakai the week ahead, under
"Assignments." Most of these will be in the Monday evening
discussion slots, but occasionally they will be during one of the
lecture periods. You will work in groups of three, but each student
should run their own code and submit their own report. The reports
will usually be due the following week, on Sakai.
Mathematica will be used for these. It is available from OIT.
- Go to software.duke.edu, “Search for Software”. You may need to enter your netid.
- Click “Student” under “Available to”, and “Wolfram” for Vendor. Then search, add Mathematica to your cart, and follow the instructions for getting the license.
- If you have problems with installation, please ask OIT for help first. For problems with content (running Mathematica and the lab content), please ask the TA or instructor.
- Here's an intro tutorial you might like to go through if you're a Mathematica novice.
