Do amplifiers have any inherent impedance $\hat{Z}$?

Yes, they do. We will often idealize them as having infinite input impedance (i.e., they draw no current) and zero output impedance (i.e., they can supply infinite current). However real amplifiers have non-infinite input and non-zero output impedance. We'll be seeing more of this later.
