Dr. Robert Brown is also an internationally recognized expert in beowulf and cluster computing and has designed and built extensive cluster computing resources for use in his own research as well as for a number of other research groups and the department in general. Most recently he has completed setting up the ``Duke Beowulf Users Group'' (DBUG) to help unify and coordinate the many cluster computing efforts underway on campus. He is also the author of an online book (perpetually under construction as technology evolves) on beowulf-style computer cluster engineering.
