Greetings... Peter ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Colleagues, I contact you on behalf of Jos Engelen to confirm that CERN would be pleased to co-organize, together with the French LHC community, the HCP 2008 symposium in Evian. (Ludwik Dobrzynski and Daniel Fournier have already submitted their agreement some time ago.) In the meantime we have checked that the Congress Centre at Evian is indeed available for end May/early June 2008. The Congress Centre has 600 places, plus smaller rooms, with all the usual modern infrastructure. (There is also a much larger auditorium in the Evian Royal Resort, but I think the Congress Centre is fine.) The Congress Centre offers interesting catering packages, but there are also many resaurants within pleasant walking distances. Hotels are very reasonable in price, plenty of them, and used to such meetings. Evian is conveniently close to CERN, it would be very easy to organize bus transportation from CERN or the airport (within one hour drive). Obviously, Evian played a historical role with its LHC meeting in March 1992, when for many of us the LHC experimental programme started to become real. The meeting would be organized jointly with the help of secretarial staff from French groups as well as from ATLAS and CMS. Kind regards, Peter Jenni --
