Abstract:   I will present a general introduction to the theory of quantum criticality, with an emphasis on the nature of electrical transport.   Under suitable conditions, such systems possess universal transport  co-efficients which are determined only by fundamental constants  of nature. The second half of the talk will be an application of the theory to a simple model of the superconductor-metal transition in nanowire.
