Host: Albert Chang

Abstract: I will present results of measurements in two, not so common, two-dimensional systems: (1) bilayer carrier systems where the strong interlayer interaction leads to a quantum Hall state with unusual properties such as superfluidity, and (2) systems in which the electrons occupy different conduction band valleys in an AlAs quantum well. In each case, I will discuss novel phenomena, arising from electron-electron interaction.
