Abstract: The time evolution of the overlap between two wave packets prepared at the same initial state, but evolving under slightly different Hamiltonians, is discussed. This overlap is closely related to the fidelity. In general the overlap decays exponentially with time for chaotic systems, while non-universal for integrable ones. We discuss the characteristic decay times for different and typical perturbations strengths giving couple of examples.
